A Period of Reflection

WOW! I don't know about you, but 2019 is moving swiftly for me and my family. Spring is upon with much cleaning and clearing occurring on many levels within our household. We are fast approaching the end of April and it is time to reflect and look back upon our progress over the last several months. Are you honoring the promises you made to yourself as you entered the beginning of the year? You know...those pesky resolutions you set for yourself. No seriously, this goes way deeper than resolutions. This is about honoring your truth and getting back to YOU. If you are...FABULOUS!!!! What an accomplishment to honor oneself and live within your true dharma (life path). If you are not, it is also a blessing to...

The Call Came and I Answered

Earlier this year I had the amazing opportunity to hear Justin Baldoni's TED Talk, Why I'm done trying to be "man enough". I was moved to a point of my existence I had never felt before. Here was a "man" discussing his struggle to reconcile who he was amidst the societal standards of what it meant to be masculine, to be strong, to be a "man". This is certainly not a new topic in the field of psychology, gender studies, education, etc. is the most amazing point, here was a man showing vulnerability, talking about emotional authenticity and sensitivity, encouraging men to be confident to connect with women on every level, and to stand up to other men for the injustices that occur against wome...

It is said that the most important responsibility ever entrusted to a human being is the possession of his/her soul. However, we humans seem to be so careless with our most entrusted part of our being. Why is this? Why do we not practice greater protection over something so invaluable as our soul? Fortunately, our souls are already becoming more, without us even trying. Our souls just seem to know our path and continuously lead us into situations, experiences, and feelings despite our awareness. Yet, we often don't see, we often don't listen, and we often refuse to feel these subtle and sometimes not so subtle messages. I have recently found myself telling my clients, my students, and even myself that we...

A Period of Reflection

As a Transformational Life Coach I am often asked how do you know when it's time to change. My reply is always the know when you have had enough. When you feel that aching in your bones that you are about to simply lose it or can't take another minute doing the same thing you have always done. Whether it is the fact that you have stayed in that relationship too long, hate going to work each day, dread the phone call from that "friend" who simply saps your energy, or you are truly unhappy with personal aspects of your life...then ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!! Do you want to wake up and realize you stayed 30 years too long? Do you want to look back on your life and go "OMG...I haven't lived at all?" Most p...

 Why is Marriage So Hard?

Marriage is hard work! Marriage is beyond anything anyone could have ever imagined. Right? Not necessarily. There is so much debate about whether marriage should be hard. I have heard the one argument that all good things should be difficult. I have also heard that if something is so difficult then it simply might not be meant to be. So who is right? Fundamentally, both are incorrect. Let me explain why. The arguments revolving around the challenge of marriage are fixated on the manifesting behaviors or conflicts that emerge. Think about the couple that shows up the therapy for the first time. After a long intake experience they will be asked what they believe to be the problem. They will be asked to ela...

Too Many Options? Not Enough People?

Is dating really this hard? Why can’t I find someone? Swipe Right. Swipe Left. Wink. Flirt. WOW!!! The options are endless. There are so many ways to meet people today compared to times past, yet we find ourselves in an angry dating culture frustrated, bitter, and let down about the possibility of finding our perfect partner. Why is this? According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there were 107 million people who identified as single/unmarried in 2014. Additionally, according to the Statistic Brain Research Institute, over 40 million people worldwide have tried online dating. Holy cow!!!! With 107 million single people in the US alone, and over 40 million people trying online dating, how is it huma...
